Class 1 - Introduction to multimedia applications

The first week will introduce participants to Web multimedia. We begin with an Information

 Architecture overview. We will also explore the network, the tools, and the software in the

multimedia laboratory. Topics will include an introduction to graphics; capturing images

from the Web; creating images using paint and/or draw programs; manipulating them using

Photoshop; and linking them to Web pages.

Class 2 - Graphics

This week's topics include scanning using flatbed scanners, capturing still images from

different sources,  and creating transparent GIF images. How about some mouse over effects? 

We will also review items covered in class 1.

Class 3 - Sound and Video

This class will include an introduction to waveform audio; hands-on capturing and editing

waveform audio; and incorporating sound on the Web using waveform audio and MIDI files.

It will also discuss the intricacies of digital video.

Class 4 - Animations, Java Script, etc.

This final class will review creating image maps and various types of animation. Get to

that can add interactive media to a Web page.
