Of-the-Month Awards


OTM (Of-the-Month) awards recognize outstanding contributions to college and university residence hallse in the following categories: advisor, community, executive board member, organization, resident assistant, spotlight, student, social program, educational program, community service program, and diversity program.  They are an excellent way for you to recognize leaders and programs in your residence halls on a campus, regional, and nation-wide level.  You can submit an OTM award by visiting our homepage and clicking on either "General OTM Submission" or "Program OTM Submission."  Make sure you fill out the forms completely, campus level winners are annouced by the 10th of the month.  Campus level winners are advanced to the regional level competition, where they will be judged against OTMs from other CAACURH schools.  Regional winners are then advanced to the national competition.  
 

Top Ten Tips for Writing an OTM

10. Due date is the 1st of the month at 11pm. (ex. September OTM's are due October 1st at 11pm)

9. Nominations may not go over the maximum word count limit.

8. Make sure contact information for the nominator and nominees are correct.

7. Make sure your nomination is in the right category – if you’re not sure – ask!

6. Define acronyms – they’re not always universal.

5. Did the nominees go above and beyond what is expected?

4. Include detail – tell us a story!

3. What lasting effects did the nominee have on the campus?

2. Check your spelling and grammar in your OTM!

1. Make sure your nomination is MONTH specific!!!
