Welcome to Alpha Lambda Delta at the
University of Delaware!
Alpha Lambda Delta is a national honor society that honors academic excellence during a student's first year in college. The purpose of the society is to encourage superior academic achievement among students in their first year in institutions of higher education, to promote intelligent living and a continued high standard of learning, and to assist women and men in recognizing and developing meaningful goals for their roles in society.
Academic standard for eligibility to the University of Delaware's chapter is a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.6 on a 4.0 scale at the conclusion of the first academic year.

Inductions are on Sunday November 9 in the Trabant MPRs from 2 to 4pm. Mark your calendars, and invite your family!
Elections for this year's officers will take place at our next meeting, on Tuesday October 14th at 6pm in Smith 140. This meeting is not mandatory, and if you can't make it, there's no need to notify me or another officer. Every officer position is to be filled by a Class of 2011 ALD member, so don't be shy.
If you are running for an office, you need to send a paragraph describing your platform/goals to Tara Rhoades by Sunday, October 5. Be sure to give your full name and the office you are running for in the email you send to Tara. The information you provide will be posted on the ALD website and passed out during elections along with the ballots. If you cannot make it to the October 14 meeting but you sent Tara a paragraph you will still be on the ballot.
