Alpha Phi was founded at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York in 1872.

Alpha Phi was initially named a women's ãfraternityä, because the word ãsororityä did not even exist yet.

Alpha Phi was founded at UD in 1972 and was the first National Panhellenic sorority on-campus.
