Rockets for Kids
Every spring, a group of Mechanical Engineering
students assist the students of Brader Elementary
School with building and launching model rockets in
the Launching a Dream program. The elementary
students are exposed to the engineering profession as
well as space exploration. Today's event was a great
success with many successful rocket launches. For

Tour of Lincoln Financial Field
Wednesday, March 14th (5:00pm - 9:00pm)
ASME Delaware Section is sponsoring a tour of the Lincoln Financial Field. The Eagles had a great season and next year should be even better. This will be a behind the scenes tour of Lincoln Financial Field. Attendance is limited to 10 people, and will be on a first come, first serve basis.
Tour of Rohm and Haas Facility
Wednesday, April 18th (6:00pm - 9:00pm)
ASME Delaware Section is sponsoring a tour of the Rohm Haas Newark Facility. Attendance is limited to 20 people and is on a first come, first serve basis.
Engineering Dodgeball
TBA
Eweek's dodgeball competition was such a great success that we would like to hold another. It will most likely take place again in Pearson Gym in middle to late March.
Trebuchet Design Contest
For anybody that has gone to the Punkin Chunkin event in lower Delaware, they have gazed in amazement at pumpkins being launched nearly a mile. In the spirit of the Delaware tradition, ASME would like to hold an event of its own. If enough interest is generated, a meeting will be held.
Shirt Design Contest
ASME will be holding a shirt design contest over this coming semester. The goal is to create a popular Mechanical Engineering design that would be proudly worn around campus. Please email ASME any designs or ideas.

Engineering Dodgeball
What a success! Thank you for all of the teams that
showed up for the first dodgeball competition to be
held during Eweek. The turnout was amazing and was
better than we possibly could have imagined.
Congratulations to The Botanical Mechanicals for
their hard fought win over The Cheg Stands. We have
posted some pictures of the competition for everyone
to see. With such
a high turnout ASME is considering a monthly or
bi-weekly competition. Again, thank you all for
coming and ice those injuries!

Research Presentation Night Update
Due to the inclement weather tonight, the
Undergraduate Research Night will be cancelled. ASME
will be hosting a similar research presentation next
Monday the 19th in 123 Spencer Lab. We will extent
that presentation to go from noon until 1:00 pm to
allow for more speakers to present their research.
Research Presentation Night
The Student Advisory Committee will be organizing an
evening of research presentations by both professors
and students. The research night will take place at
6:00 pm in 114 Spencer Lab on Tuesday, February 12th.
The night is aimed at helping those who are thinking
about beginning research over the next summer. A wide
variety of research topics will be covered, including
nanotubes, fuel cells, and biomechanics research.
Students are also encouraged to contact professors
for available research projects, as the deadline for
Science & Engineering Scholars Applications to
the Undergraduate Research
Program is March 1st.
