Vice-President of Research and Development for General
Motors, talk about the future of the automobile,
including the revolution taking place from internal
combustion engines to hydrogen fuel cells. Larry
Burns is one of the key people shaping the future of
the automobile and has appeared on several
television programs to showcase GM's hydrogen
prototypes.

Rohm Haas Newark Facility

The Professional ASME Delaware Section is sponsoring a
tour of the Rohm Haas Newark Facility next Wednesday,
April 18th. Attendance is limited and 6 places have
been reserved for University of Delaware mechanical
engineering students. If you are planning to attend,
you must email ASME by Monday, April 16th.

Lincoln Financial Field Tour

In collaboration with the professional chapter of ASME,
we are sponsoring a tour of the Lincoln Financial Field
on March 14th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The Eagles had a
great season and next year should be even better. This
will be a behind the scenes tour of Lincoln Financial
Field. Attendance is limited to 25 people, so email ASME as soon as possible.
Spots will be filled on a first come, first serve
basis and transportation will need to be arranged.
Rockets for Kids

Every spring, a group of Mechanical Engineering
students assist the students of Brader Elementary
School with building and launching model rockets in the
Launching a Dream program. The elementary students are
exposed to the engineering profession as well as space
exploration. Today's event was a great success with
many successful rocket launches. For some pictures

Engineering Dodgeball

What a success! Thank you for all of the teams that
showed up for the first dodgeball competition to be
held during Eweek. The turnout was amazing and was
better than we possibly could have imagined.
Congratulations to The Botanical Mechanicals for their
hard fought win over The Cheg Stands. We have posted
some pictures of the competition for everyone to
see. With such a
high turnout ASME is considering a monthly or
bi-weekly competition. Again, thank you all for
coming and ice those injuries!

Research Presentation Night Update

Due to the inclement weather tonight, the Undergraduate
Research Night will be cancelled. ASME will be hosting
a similar research presentation next Monday the 19th in
123 Spencer Lab. We will extent that presentation to go
from noon until 1:00 pm to allow for more speakers to
present their research.
