DCON Recap 2007

During the weekend of February 16, 2007, UDCKI traveled the 5 hours to Charlottesville, Virginia for the 47th Annual Capital District Convention. The decorations of the event nicely matched the Hollywood theme, "That's a Wrap: Capital in the Spotlight", and Circle K'ers enjoyed watching their fellow members and District Board members be hypnotized on a stage in front of them.

The next day, Saturday, February 17, 2007, Circle K'ers enjoyed a hot breakfast before heading to the roundtables, House of Delegates sessions, and workshops. After the workshops Circle K'ers participated in Caucuses where they listened to the candidates for the new District Board give their speeches. All the events of the long day led Circle K'ers to the Presidents Dinner and Ball where UDCKI was awarded several awards, which included: 2nd Place Scrapbook, 3rd Place Website, Distinguished Treasurer (for Graham Worrall), People Miles (traveling 10,800 miles!), 4 King Crabs (Graham Worrall, Katie Monahan, Allison Jervis, and Marissa Bailey), Early Bird Dues, and 2nd Place Club Achievement. The night ended with the dance where everyone enjoyed themselves.

On Sunday, February 18, 2007, Circle K'ers had a late start due to an unexpectedly long Delegates Session where they listened to Closing Ceremonies and were presented with the new District Board. After the Closing Session, UDCKI headed back to UD to catch up sleep lost, do work, and to reflect upon another great District Convention.
