On Saturday November 15th, Alumnus Ivan Baldyachev placed first in the senior lightweight event at the 2008 USRowing Fall Speed Order located at Carnegie Lake in Princeton, N.J. This regatta is a head-race that provides an opportunity for senior-level and junior-level athletes with national team aspirations to compete against one another.

Baldytchev, rowing for the Pennsylvania Athletic Club, proved his abilities when he finished first out of 28 senior lightweight scullers with a race time of 13:03.467, less than half a second in front of second place Sam Cunningham of Malta Boat Club.
