Heavyweights to Race at the 2009 Knecht Cup Regatta
This Friday and Saturday, the University of Delaware Men’s Crew heavyweight’s will travel to the Cooper River in Camden, NJ to compete in the 2009 Knecht Cup Regatta.
The races will begin on Friday, April 10th at 8:20 am with the men’s varsity 4+ event. Delaware will be in lane 5, with Loyola in lane 2, Marietta in lane 3, Penn State in lane 4, and Lafayette in lane 6. The first and second place crews in this heat will move on to the grand final to take place at 9:30 am on Saturday. Third and fourth place will race in the petite final at 9:20 am.
The men’s varsity 8+ will race at 11:16 am in lane 5, with Maryland in lane 1, Hobart in lane 2, Rutgers in lane 3, Lehigh in lane 4, and Mary Washington in lane 6. The first four crews to cross this line in this event will move on to the semi-finals to take place at 4:34 pm later that day.
At 1:08 pm, the freshman/novice 8+ will race in lane 4, with Marietta in lane 2, Lehigh in lane 3, UConn in lane 5, and Loyola in lane 6. Crews placing first to third in this event, as well as the next fastest three times of the day, will move on to the semi-final to take place at 5:14 pm later that afternoon.
The second freshman/novice 8+ will compete one race to take place on Saturday at 7:10 am. Delaware will be in lane 2 with Bucknel in lane 3, Marietta in lane 4, Rutgers in lane 5, and Penn State in lane 6.
