 2007-8 Auditions for Dark Arts will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2007. They will be at the Little Bob (off of Main Street behind Jastak-Burgess) from 10:30AM to 3:30PM. Auditions for the company are held annually in the FALL. All styles (jazz, african, hip-hop, ballet, modern, etc) and levels (beginner to advanced) of dance are welcome. At auditions, dancers will be warmed up and taught a short combination (approximately 4 sets of 8 counts) for three genres (jazz, modern, and hip-hop). Those who audition will then perform in small groups. *Please NO spectators. THIS IS A CLOSED AUDITION. Only those who are actively participating in the auditions process may remain in the room.* *Bring water and healthy snacks.* *Please wear comfortable clothes preferably tight-fitting so we can see body alignment.* *Please bring a photo of yourself (it will be returned) so we can match names to faces throughout the audition. *Have fun.....relax, relate, release...and show us how much you LOVE to dance.* Optional Prepared Piece An optional prepared piece has been added to the auditions process. Each participant that continues onto the individual portion of the audition is asked to perform a dance no longer than one minute. This section allows you to show specialties that the group audition can not accommodate such as Pointe, tap, advanced jumps and turns, etc. If you opt not to perform a prepared piece then you will perform a piece learned at auditions. *The piece should be no longer than one minute.* *Please remember to bring your own music unless you will be performing one of the pieces learned at auditions.* *Costumes and props are definitely allowed.* *You can perform an original piece, or someone else's choreography.
