Namaste!
Welcome to the Indian Students Association's Web page here
at the University of Delaware! My name is Aarti Mahtani and
I am currently ISA President for the ‘04-05 academic
year. As president, I take great pride in this organization.
Over the years, ISA's goal has been to diversify our organization
and the university campus. As this is my second year as president,
I have attempted to maintain the momentum previous leaders
and board members have set in reaching this goal. The ISA
Executive Board, comprised of 10 hard-working, dedicated members,
has had the same passion as I have -- to make this minority
organization the best in serving the South Asian Delaware
community.
Through our attempts, we have had several successful events
and shows on campus that draw in students, faculty, other
South Asian organizations from nearby universities, Delaware
and tri-state residents. Our annual fall and spring cultural
shows accumulate approximately 400+ guests. In addition, our
monthly events and fundraisers, as well as our weekly meetings,
are another way to unite those who have a similar interest,
the curiosity and love of the Indian culture. Although some
people have a misconception that we solely cater towards Indian
people, we would love if anyone would join ISA, no matter
your cultural background.
We, the board, work very hard to organize events and shows,
make decisions – all the while have fun as we also learn
about the culture as the year progresses. We all take a great
deal of pride in this organization and I am thoroughly proud
to be president for another year.
To learn more about me and other board members, please view
the "Meet the Board" section of this website. Please
do not hesitate to contact any board member for any question
or concern. Thank you and I hope to see many of you at our
upcoming ISA events!
