Hints for filling out the Information Sheet
- Since candidates are selected anonymously, make sure that your name is only in the designated area and nowhere else on the form.
- When writing your short answers, remember that people who do not know you are reading these. You want to make sure your answers are complete and that your personality shows through.
- In the space where you list campus and community activities, include such things as your participation in other student organizations, involvement in service activities, and volunteer work (whether individually or with a group). One of the goals of the current chapter is to increase Mortar Board's visibility around campus and in the community. In the next question, please illustrate how Mortar Board could work with one of your current activities or organizations.
- Examples of experience that exemplify scholarship are doing research with a professor or individually, being a TA, participating in extra credit activities or projects, or other experiences that demonstrate your scholastic ability.
- The three ideals of Mortar Board are scholarship, leadership, and service
