| What does "SAGE" stand for?
SAGE stands for Students Acting for Gender Equality. |
Is SAGE affiliated with any national organizations? Yes, SAGE is affiliated with the Feminist Majority Foundation as a Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance. |
How does SAGE stand on the issues? SAGE promotes the seven principles of the Feminist Majority Foundation, which include:
-- promoting equality between women and men and girls and boys -- supporting safe, legal, and accessible abortion, contraceptive, and family planning -- supporting the achievement of civil rights for all people, including affirmative action programs -- supporting gay and lesbian rights -- not permitting discrimination on the basis of race, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, religion, ethnicity, age, marital status, national origin, or disability -- promoting non-violence and working to eliminate violence against women -- encouraging programs for the preservation of the environment |
Do I have to agree with the above principles or all of SAGE's or the Feminist Majority's positions, ideas, and events to be involved with SAGE? No, if you are interested in gender equality, you are WELCOME. |
How do I join SAGE? Come to a meeting! Tuesdays at 9:00 pm in the Alumni Lounge on the 1st Floor of Perkins Student Center. |
