University of Delaware Bowling

The University of Delaware Bowling Team was founded by Donald Pyle in the fall of 1999. With the help of a few good friends, the team began competition in October of 1999. The school joined the Eastern Pennsylvania Maryland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference whose membership includes College of New Jersey, Penn State Main, Penn State Berks/Lehigh, Shippensburg, and Temple to name a few participating schools.

Along with conference, the teams travel to numerous tournaments both in the region and nationally. Both teams have enjoyed success, on different levels. The Men's A team went undefeated in conference (16-0) in its first year, and earned a spot in sectionals. The Women's A team finished a respectable third in conference in its first season. Tournaments participated in include Keystone Quaker Classic, Blue Hen Open, Nittany Lion Kegler Classic, Team Match Games, South Jersey Winter Classic, Colgate Invitational, EPMIBC Conference Tournament, and the Ebonite Hoosier Classic.

Due to the success and growth of interest in the bowling team here at Delaware we added a Girl's A team in the fall of 2000! The team currently receives equipment at cost from Dexter, Storm, Ebonite, and Track along with receiving free practice from Pleasant Hill Lanes due thanks to Cheryl Woodward.
