NCSMFS Update:

to attend either of the NCEMSF meetings on Tuesday or Wednesday
night at 9:00 pm. Also there is a new training opportunity available
for the conference.

DISASTER COURSE - BASIC DISASTER LIFE SUPPORT (BDLS)NCEMSF is excited
to be able to offer the BDLS course as an extension of our 2008
Conference in Philadelphia. David Jaslow, MD, MPH, FAAEM, Director
of the Division of EMS and Disaster Medicine at Albert Einstein
Medical Center in Philadelphia and the NAEMT Key Note Lecturer at
the 2008 NCEMSF Conference, will be coordinating the course that
will run Sunday from 8AM to 4PM. The additional cost per course
participant is $50 and includes books, hands-on workshop materials,
and lunch. Space is limited so please pre-register by February 27,
2008 by supplying your name and university affiliation online at

UDECU volunteered at the
Polar Bear Plunge this past weekend. 16 Members assisted others
from the beach as they took a plunge in the Atlantic Ocean to benefit
the Special Olympics. A few members also were brave enough to take
a dip in the frigid water. UDECU was joined by members of the University
of Delaware Police Department and many other organizations.
