About the University of Delaware Equestrian Team (UDET)

Who We Are

The University of Delaware Equestrian Team is one of the largest club sport team on the Delaware campus. It is comprised of about 130 active members who vary in skill level; from never riding a horse to competing nationally on the A-Circuit. and vary in disciplines; including western pleasure, gaming, eventing, dressage, hunters, jumpers, and backyard riding. Whatever your involvement with horses is, we want you to join! All the members share a common bond: the love for horses.

What We Do

Members of UDET have a wide variety of activities that they can choose to participate in. Levels of participation depend on the individual. Besides meetings, members get the chance to take weekly riding lessons, workouts, fundraisers, volunteering, and other activities. Some of the past events have included:

Where We Ride

UDET members have the option of riding at two barns: Granite Springs Stable and The Vicmead Hunt Club.

Granite Springs Stables
Granite Springs Stables is owned and managed by Bryan Bradley. who also is the coach of UDET.  Bryan attended Cazenovia College where he earned an AAS in Stable and Farm Management.  He has more than 25 years of experience teaching all levels of riders.  He specializes in developing skilled, confident and safe riders.  Bryan has coached the University of Delaware Equestrian Team since 1995.  Under his guidance they have won numerous Regional and Zone Championships and Reserve Championships.  They were the IHSA National Champions in 1997.  Bryan serves as a director on the Board of the IHSA and is also on the board of the Chesapeake Bay Horse Show Association.  Bryan is well respected by his peers in the equine community, and can often be found judging horse shows, coaching riders at shows, or giving clinics in the tri-state area.

The Vicmead Hunt Club
All of our Intermediate and Open riders have the option of riding with LRJ Enterprises at The Vicmead Hunt Club in Greenville, De. LRJ Enterprises is run by Grand Prix rider Laurie Jakubauskas who is also the head trainer. For more information, please visit LRJ's website.
