The Academy of Lifelong Learning, established in 1980 by the University of Delaware, provides opportunities for intellectual and cultural exploration and development for men and women of retirement age. The Academy's program is centered on classes developed and led by fellow members, thereby enhancing, enriching and extending the quality of life of its members. The Academy Concert Band
Mission Statement
The Academy Band, established in 1999 as a class in the Performing Arts Department of the Academy of Lifelong Learning, provides opportunities for members to improve technique and performance skills in a concert band format, from easy to medium difficulty. The band director, as well as ensemble leaders, are volunteers who support and participate in the development of beginner or relearning instrumentalists.
