Introduction

My name is Mark Nicholas Demitroff, and I am a “mature” second–year M.A. student at the Department of Geography, University of Delaware. I completed a B.S. in Agricultural Sciences at Cook College, Rutgers University in 1982. An earnest pursuit into the Late–Pleistocene conditions of southern New Jersey began in 1999. This piqued the curiosity of Dr. Hugh French, then Dean of Science and Professor of both Geology and Geography at the University of Ottawa. A telephone inquiry in 1999 initiated our first meeting of March 2000. So began a working relationship into the old frozen dirt of the Pinelands. I received abundant enlightenment and inspiration from Dr. French and his kind friends.
